Yuka

Voice

Born in Tokyo, Yuka began her vocal studies at Senzoku Gakuen College of Music in 2006, where she trained under Yasuko Hirata and Dana Hanchard. She quickly stood out, receiving the Encouragement Prize at the 1st Saitama Jazz Vocal Contest that same year. After graduating at the top of her class in 2010, she released her first mini-album Look in my days in 2011.

In 2014, she followed up with her first full-length album Just from now, produced by jazz drummer Masayuki Kume. Her versatility as a vocalist led her to co-found the jazz chorus unit Chai-Chee Sisters with fellow vocalist Sari, releasing Girl Talk under the production of renowned singer Akiko in 2016. In 2020, her own band JIVE at FIVE released their debut mini-album.

Today, Yuka performs widely with her solo projects, her band, and as part of the prominent swing jazz group Gentle Forest Jazz Band. As a core member of their vocal section, the Gentle Forest Sisters, she appears regularly on stage and on television, always bringing a smile to the audience.
